Jun 27 - Chief Minister Donates Money From GMF Wristbands To Calpe House
A donation of £23,250 was presented to the Calpe House Trust by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo at a charity gala this weekend.
The money was left over from last year’s GMF cashless wristbands.
After initially attempting the system so that refunds could be given, GMF organisers warned festival-goers before doors opened that no refunds would be possible and reinforced this message during the weekend.
Notwithstanding, £23,250 was left on the wristbands, money which the Chief Minister said the Government couldn’t give back to the festival-goers, so was “giving back to everyone by giving it to Calpe House”.
GMF organisers have confirmed refunds will be possible this year, for a limited period of time and online only, with more details to be confirmed.
