Sep 28 - NatWest Gibraltar Sets £10k Target For Its October Charity Fundraising Week

NatWest Gibraltar is launching a charity fundraising week, starting this weekend, in order to raise money for five local charities.

The fundraising drive begins on Saturday, 1st October when NatWest colleagues, both as individuals or in teams, will walk the arduous trail of the Mediterranean Steps five times in a row.

The Big NatWest Gibraltar Charity Quiz is the next event on Wednesday 5th October at the Manchester United Supporters Club, where customers have also been invited to participate.

On Thursday, the NatWest Charity Fitness Extravaganza will take place and the following day, there will be the Great Gibraltar Bake Off Cake Bake, where cakes will be judged and then sold to customers and colleagues. Cakes will be on sale in the Line Wall Road banking hall and in the customer services team area at 55 Line Wall Road.

Finally, on Sunday, 9th October, teams will face each other at the Europa Point Football pitch for the NatWest Bubble Football Tournament. Rounding off a week of fun events, NatWest colleagues and customers will be encased in an inflated zorb (bubble) covering their upper body and head.

NatWest colleagues selected the charities and set themselves the target of £10,000. The chosen charities are: St. John’s Ambulance, Cancer Relief Gibraltar, Calpe House, Babysteps Gibraltar, and A Pathway Through Pain. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the week adding to the funds raised.

Amanda Eccleston, Country Head, NatWest Gibraltar, commented: “We are looking forward to this charity fundraising week. It should be fun, but with a competitive edge as teams compete against each other. We are delighted that a number of our customers have agreed to participate and we hope to raise funds for a range of important local charities which I know are dear to the hearts of many of our colleagues.”
