Jul 28 - This Side Up To Perform At Peru School Fundraiser
A fundraiser tapas night is being organised to raise much needed funds for a school in Peru run by former Loreto Convent Headmistress Sister Patricia MacLaughin.
This Side Up will be performing on the night at the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club on Wednesday 29th July starting at 8pm, and there will be a raffle held as well.
Sister Patricia, who has been at the school for the past 14 years, will be showing a slideshow of images from the school, Fe y Alegria número 58 May Ward, which she has built in a town called Jicamarca just outside of Lima.
She has already built a ‘comedor’ for pupils to dine in, which is often the only meal they’ll have that day.
Tessa Linares, who is organising the event, said: “The place is amazing, I’ve been there before and I would do anything to help the school. It was one of the best experiences in my life.”
