Sep 01 - Wellington Boxing Club’s Skipathon Raises Over £14,000
Wellington Boxing Club has presented their amazing donation of £14, 861 to the Cancer Relief Centre, which goes towards Shyanne Azzopardi’s Fun Day grand total. This was raised after completing a 12-hour skipathon.
Wellington Boxing Club’s sponsor, Charles Isola from Anglo Hispano Company Ltd said: “I was approached by Jose Luis, a good friend of mine, to sponsor a new boxing club he was setting up. We decided, together with Callaghan insurance, to support this new club. Through this new club, Jose Luis wanted to raise money for charities but unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. Since then, he has spoken extremely highly of the Cancer Relief Centre and decided to fundraise for this cause. This is something he has achieved with a wonderful day last Saturday. After a very early start and such a short space of time we all feel it has been a fantastic achievement.”
This wonderful donation will be used to fund the different services offered by Cancer Relief Gibraltar to people with cancer and their families.
Shyanne will be presenting the grand total soon, so keep an eye out for more updates on this incredible fundraising feat.
