Nov 16 - Man Arrested For Stalking Teenage Girl

A man has been arrested and charged after he reportedly stalked a teenage girl and followed her home.

Matthew Savignon, 38, of Varyl Begg Estate, has been charged with one count of causing intentional harassment, alarm or distress and one count of stalking.

According to the RGP, on Friday night, the teenage girl in question realised she was being followed by a man as she made her way home.

The man reportedly entered her block right behind her but his access was blocked. Although he was initially trapped inside the building, he managed to escape before police arrived.

On Saturday evening, after conducting investigations, the RGP arrested Savignon who appeared in court this morning.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on 24th November.
