A 24-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of, as well as the storage of a commercial quantity of cigarettes.

The arrest follows the execution of a search warrant in a lockup garage yesterday by Drugs Squad officers, resulting in the seizure of 24 cases containing 120,000 cigarettes of various brands, with an approximate retail value of £10,000.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been bailed to return to New Mole House at a later date whilst enquiries continue.
