The Royal Gibraltar Police has said it is investigating a situation after a video has gone viral on social media depicting a man shouting at a passerby and interfering with traffic in the area of Governor's Street on Saturday evening.

Officers attended the area after receiving complaints from passers by regarding a man causing a disturbance and interfering with traffic in the area of Governor's Street at around 7pm.

As a result, 52-year-old Polish national Szczensny Tomasz Smolinski, a resident in La Linea in Spain, was arrested for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

A spokesman for the RGP said: "Smolinski is also alleged to have damaged vehicles that had been travelling through the area at the time, while shouting comments that may have been considered offensive or alarming to the public in the current security climate.
