    Officers from the RGP Operations Division currently investigating recent instances of Violence and Anti-Social Behaviour in the area of Glacis Estate have carried out several arrests. These follow an incident of Violent Disorder at Glacis Estate last Friday, where seven individuals were arrested by RGP Response Team officers and where bladed weapons were seized.

Aug 26 – Wounding, Assault And Drugs Trials All Set - Busy Morning At The Supreme Court

It was another busy morning at the Supreme Court during which the dates for a number of upcoming criminal trials were set.

Clive Guerrero pleaded his innocence with regard to two counts of making threats to kill and assault occasioning in actual bodily harm. This relates to an incident in June this year. He was remanded in custody until the date of his trial which is set to take place on Monday 10th October.

A couple also appeared for a number of drug-related offences relating to an incident in October last year.

John Charles Gaivizo Sr and Arelis Gaivizo Castano were charged with the possession of 12.95 grams of cocaine and 4.5 grams of cannabis resin. Gaivizo pleaded guilty to both counts while Gaivizo Castano maintained her innocence, however she pleaded guilty to one count of obstructing police officers. A trial will begin on Tuesday 15th November.

John Charles Gaivizo Sr will also appear in a second trial together with his son John Charles Gaivizo Jr on Monday 5th December.

The duo pleaded not guilty to one joint count of affray. Gaivizo Sr also pleaded not guilty to one count of wounding with intent and another count of wounding relating to an incident which allegedly took place in October last year.

Gaivizo Jr entered a not guilty plea for one count of common assault.

The trial is expected to last for two weeks.

Mark Macias pleaded not guilty to one count of assault occasioning in actual bodily harm which dates back to 14th February earlier this year.

He was also charged with one count of possession of 2.8 grams of cannabis resin for which he entered a guilty plea.

Macias will go on trial on Monday 5th December.
