Apr 24 - Two Locals Arrested After Series Of Weekend Robberies – RGP Appeal For Witnesses

Officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police’s Crime Unit investigating three robberies and an attempted robbery have arrested a 37 year old local man and a 43 year old local woman.

Local man Charles Dylan PEIRE aged 37 of Victoria House, Alameda Estate, has been charged with one count of Robbery in relation to one of the incidents being investigated and which is alleged to have occurred at around 3am on Saturday the 12th of April.

After charging PEIRE was kept in cells pending his court appearance at 1000am on Thursday the 24th of April 2014.

He has been released on police bail in relation to the other two robberies and the attempted robbery. Similarly the 43 year old woman has also been released on police bail in relation to all four matters.

Inquiries into the robberies continue and investigating officers are appealing for anyone with information which may assist the investigation.

Officers are interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the area of Winston Churchill Avenue in the area of the pedestrian footbridge on either Friday the 11th of April at around 3.30am or on Sunday the 20th of April at around 3.40am. As they may be able to assist with inquires.

Similarly anyone in the area of Devils Tower Road at around 3am on Saturday the 12th April between its junctions with Eaton Park and Shackleton Road may also be able to assist police.
