Jul 02 - Local Charged Following Police Assault

rgp crest 45-year-old local man James Richard Lara of Firedrake House, Laguna Estate was today charged with a number of offences, relating to an incident that occurred on Monday of this week.

Mr. Lara faces charges of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, Common Assault, Two counts of Carrying an Offensive Weapon, namely a 
Motorcycle Crash Helmet, Using Threatening Words, Two counts of Having an Article with a Blade or Point in a Public 
Place, namely a kitchen knife, failing to Stop when Signalled by a Police Officer, Assault on Police, Resisting Police and Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent (upon a police 
officer).

Lara faced the Magistrate’s Court this morning.
