Jul 24 - New General Purpose Police Dogs

Two new General purpose Police Dogs (GPDs) have been acquired by the RGP from South Yorkshire Police.

The dogs, ‘Coco’ and ‘Stig’ were fully trained and licensed GPDs and were acquired by the RGP in order to replace two of their other GPDs.

Police Sergeant Louis Baglietto and Police Constable Gerry Martinez recently attended the UK in order to carry out further training.

PS Baglietto undertook the Police Dog Handler Trainer’s course and PC Martinez carried out a Handler Pairing course with his new dog ‘Stig’.

‘Coco’ will now undertake further training locally with her new handler PC Nicole Buckley prior to becoming operational.
