Sep 09 - Two Locals Charged After Attempted Robbery At Knifepoint
An Attempted Robbery took place yesterday afternoon at a shop in the southern part of Main Street.
A male wearing a balaclava and holding a large knife was reported to have entered the shop as part of the attempted robbery.
The suspect made good his escape after being tackled by the shop owner, who sustained an injury to one of his hands.
An investigation led to the arrest of three persons yesterday evening.
A local juvenile together with a local male and a Spanish National were arrested and taken into custody as follows:
- A local juvenile who cannot be named for legal reasons
- Lee Cruz Parry, aged 40, a local residing in Tank Ramp
Both Cruz Parry and the juvenile have been jointly charged with Attempted Robbery with the juvenile being further charged with possession of an offensive weapon. They will be appearing in court this morning. A Spanish national remains in police custody, assisting with inquiries.
