Sep 23 - Burglar Threat - Security Guards To Patrol Government Rental Estates During Refurbishment
The Government has been made aware of reports in the media which indicate that burglars are trying to make use of scaffolding around blocks in order to gain access to flats while the hugely successful and welcome estate refurbishment programme is in progress.
Given this situation, the Government has instructed the main contractor GJBS to make sure that there are new high visibility security guard patrols in Moorish Castle, Laguna and Glacis Estates every night in order to try to deter potential wrongdoers.
These patrols will commence from Thursday and will be reviewed periodically.
