Nov 24 - Police Appeal For Witnesses Following Devil’s Tower Road Crash

At about 1515hrs yesterday afternoon, and following numerous calls from members of the public, officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police, Gibraltar Defence Police, Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service, Highways Enforcement Officers and the GHA Ambulance Service responded to a Road Traffic Collision by the multi storey car park on Devil's Tower Road.

Investigations are underway to determine how the vehicle concerned, a black Honda Civic, came to be involved in the collision. The vehicle is believed to have been travelling westward at the time.

Two local males aged 24 and 23 believed to be travelling in the said vehicle were conveyed to St Bernard's Hospital suffering from serious injuries. Both have since been described as being in a critical but stable condition.

A 27 year old local man, the driver of a second vehicle also in the area at the time and believed to be travelling in the same direction, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was interviewed by investigating officers and later released on bail.

Investigating officers are keen to speak to any member of the public who has not already contacted police, and who was in the area at the time and may have either seen the vehicle travelling west along Devil's Tower Road or witnessed the collision itself. The officers can be contacted on 20072500.
