Jan 26 - Local Arrested After High Speed Chase – 20g Of Cocaine Seized

At about 1815hrs last Friday, at Sir Herbert Miles Road in the vicinity of the Caleta Palace Hotel, officers of the RGP’s Drug Squad arrested Ernest Ullger of Schomberg, a 46 year-old British national, following a high-speed car chase which had started minutes before at Laguna Estate. Officers had initially attempted to stop Ullger after he had been seen acting suspiciously within his vehicle.

Four officers were injured, none of them seriously, as Ullger attempted to evade capture. Ullger’s vehicle was eventually brought to a halt at Sir Herbert Miles Road where officers seized approximately 20.9 grams of Cocaine with a total street value of approximately £1,260.

An undisclosed amount of cash was also seized from inside Ullger’s vehicle suspected to be connected with the supply of drugs.

Ullger, who was already currently on bail granted by The Magistrates’ Court of Gibraltar in relation to Cocaine Possession offences, was subsequently charged with the following offences;

1 count of unlawful possession of 20.9 grams of a preparation containing Cocaine


1 count of unlawful possession of the said drugs with Intent to Supply another or others


1 count of Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm


1 count of Resisting Police


1 count of Obstructing Police

1 count of Dangerous Driving

Ullger was kept in cells pending his Court appearance this morning when the matter was adjourned to this afternoon.
