Mar 03 - RGP Prescription Drugs Collection Day

The Neighbourhood Policing Unit of the RGP will this Thursday 5th March be holding a prescription drug dump and will be setting up a main collection point at Casemates Square for this purpose.

Medicines in home cabinets are susceptible to be abused by anyone within a household. Additionally, expired medication may be unsafe for use and could potentially have harmful effects on anyone taking them. Allied to this is the fact that many people are unaware of how to safely dispose of unwanted medication.

As a result, the RGP want to give the public an opportunity to dispose of these unwanted / expired medications and are urging them to bring them down to Casemates on Thursday between 10am and 3pm or to any of its district offices which will be manned on the day between those same hours. As a service to senior citizens, the RGP will also have collection points on the day at Bishop Canilla House and Albert Risso House. Additionally, all district offices will remain available as collection points until Friday 13th March.

The RGP’s district offices are located at;

Upper Town: 12 Lower Castle Road

South District: 13 Sandpits House

West District: 3 Warspite House, Varyl Begg Estate

North District: 25 Goole House, Glacis Estate

(Please check with the control room on Tel: 200 72500 for district office opening times)
