Mar 30 - Local Man Admits Threatening To Burn Down City Hall

A local man has admitted phoning the Housing Department offices at City Hall and threatening to burn down the building.

Karl Henry Danino of Valiant House, Varyl Begg, this morning pleaded guilty to one count of threatening to destroy or damage property. The incident took place on the 29th May 2014.

Danino pleaded not guilty to a further charge of threats to kill. The Crown indicated that it would not be presenting evidence in respect of this charge and Danino was therefore acquitted.

A pre-sentence report had now been ordered and Danino is set to be sentenced at the Supreme Court on the 28th April. He has been on remand since the incident.

He is represented by David Dumas QC, assisted by Joelle Wahnon.
