  • Government Disappointed at EU Parliament Delisting Vote

The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).

Mar 31 - Email Spoofing Scam Reminder

The RGP would like to remind the general public that they continue to receive reports from local businesses to the effect that they have received emails from addresses which are extremely similar to company email addresses. The only notable difference is the domain suffix which reads: .co instead of .com

For example, if the original address reads: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., the fraudulent address will read: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The email will contain a transaction request which appears to be made by a senior staff member or a director. The request may contain a .PDF invoice and bank details to process the transfer.

The credentials used appear to be obtained from company websites with public contact details for individual Directors or other members of staff.

The Royal Gibraltar Police would like to advise the public that if any such messages have been received and opened then they should contact the RGP Serious Crime Unit.

Any such links should be deleted upon receipt.

Should further advice be sought contact the RGP Serious Crime Unit on 20072500 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
