May 28 - RGP Seize £150,000 Worth Of Cannabis Resin

The Royal Gibraltar Police seized two bales of cannabis resin, each weighing approximately 30kg and with a street value of up to £150,000 in the Bay of Gibraltar.

The incident occurred at around 3pm on Tuesday 26th May, when officers from the RGP’s Marine Section detected two jet skis heading into the Bay of Gibraltar, after receiving information that the vessels had travelled from the Moroccan coastline.

Police tried to intercept both jet skis as they entered British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, each crewed by a rider and pillion and seen to be loaded with two bales of cannabis resin.

One of the two vessels jettisoned its cargo and the two bales of Cannabis Resin were seized by the RGP officers.

Whilst the riders of both vessels failed to stop and evaded detention, they were chased out of BGTW and were seen heading to Puente Mayorga, in Spain.
