May 29 - Local Man Charged With Raping A Child

Following extensive investigations by officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police’s Criminal Investigation Department a 64-year-old local man has been arrested and charged with a number of serious sexual offences. The offences are alleged to have taken place eleven years ago. The alleged victim is now twenty years old.

Richard Dellipiani, aged 64 of Lime Kiln Steps was arrested yesterday and was later charged as follows:

- Two counts of rape of a child under the age of thirteen. 


- One count of causing, encouraging and assisting a child under the age of 
thirteen to engage in sexual activity. 


- One count of sexual assault on a child under the age of thirteen. 


Dellipiani remained in police cells and will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court at 1000hrs today.
