A group of seven Spaniards were arrested in the Upper Rock area for conspiracy to import a controlled drug.

The Royal Gibraltar Police made the arrest yesterday morning, as the men were allegedly acting as spotters in the Upper Rock area for a suspect drugs operation involving a Spanish fishing vessel seen in the bay.

Those arrested were found to have binoculars and mobile phones with them, which have been taken by the RGP.

The men have been released on bail and investigations continue.
