Jul 27 - Local Man Pleads Guilty To Possession Of And Intent To Supply 62g Of Cocaine

A 57-year-old local man has pleaded guilty to possession of and intention to supply more than 60g of cocaine at the Magistrates' Court this morning. 

Angel Ressa of Maidstone House, Laguna Estate, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of 62 grams of a preparation containing Cocaine, and one count of unlawful possession of 62 grams of cocaine with intent to supply another or others.

The incident took place on Friday night, when as part of Operation CUSEK, RGP Drug Squad officers stopped Ressa in the area of Marina Bay at around 8pm.  He was searched at the scene and was found to be in possession of 12 individual wrappers containing a white powder suspected to be cocaine. 

Ressa was immediately arrested by Police on suspicion of being in unlawful possession of the said drugs and being in unlawful possession of the drugs with intent to supply another or others. He was then conveyed to his residence where a search of such resulted in the seizure of a further 50 grams of suspected Cocaine (30 grams were individually wrapped and a further 20 grams were wrapped in two 10-gram wrappers). Ressa was then also arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession and possession with intent to supply the said drugs. The search was conducted with the assistance of RGP Search Dogs.

During the search, drug paraphernalia was also seized as were monies and mobile telephones.

On being charged, Ressa was bailed in the sum of £4000 in his own recognisance to appear before the Magistrates’ Court this morning where he entered a guilty plea to both charges.  He was granted court bail with the same conditions as those imposed by the Police following his arrest. His case has been adjourned until the 30th September 2015 pending the submission of a Pre-Sentence report.
