Jul 30 - Local Man Charged With Rape Against A Child

A homeless man was arrested yesterday by the RGP Criminal Investigations Department, on suspicion of sexual assault against a child.

James George Bell, 47, was arrested and was subsequently charged with the following offences for which he will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court this morning:

•   Two counts of Rape of a Child of 13 years

•   Two counts of Rape

•   One count of Assault by Penetration of a Child under the age of 13

•   One count of Assault by Penetration

•   One count of Sexual Assault

•   Two counts of Indecent Assault

•   One count of Common Assault

The charges relate to Bell having occasioned the above offences upon Miss X, a child who is currently 15 years of age, who has been subjected to this since she was aged 9 years old.
