Jul 30 – Man On Trial For £40K Jewellery Theft

A man appeared in the Supreme Court earlier today, accused of having stolen more than £40,000 worth of jewellery from a Main Street shop.

The Crown heard that Guillermo Lopez Castro entered as a trespasser and stole various items of jewellery.

He pleaded not guilty to one count of burglary relating to the incident, which took place in March last year.

Lopez Castro is being represented by Ian Watts. Senior Crown Counsel Damian Conroy and Cecile Gomez appeared for the crown.

The trial is expected to continue until early next week.
