Aug 04 – Moroccan National Remanded In Custody For Importation Of 100kgs Of Cannabis Resin

A Moroccan national accused of importing 100kgs of cannabis resin on a jet ski has been remanded in custody after appearing in the Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Najib Ghezeil, of Tangiers, faces several charges, including importing approximately 100kgs of cannabis resin, possession of and possession with intent to supply 100kgs of cannabis resin, dangerous navigation, obstructing police, being a Non-Gibraltarian found in Gibraltar without a valid permit, jettisoning cargo and keeping a radio transceiver without a licence.

Ghezeil was granted legal aid and will be represented by Chris Pitto. He is due to appear before the Lay Magistrates next Tuesday.
