Aug 27 - Man Charged Following Marina Court Knife Incident

A 62-year-old man was arrested just after midnight yesterday when police were called to a flat in Marina Court following reports that he had tried to stab his son with a small kitchen knife.

Ashok Aidasani, a company director, was arrested and charged with attempted wounding with intent. It is alleged that, following a domestic argument during which Aidasani’s son tried to intervene, Aidasani tried to stab him.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Aidasani was conveyed to New Mole House and interviewed under caution and later charged. He was refused bail pending this morning’s appearance at the Magistrates’ Court.

UPDATE: Following his appearance in court this morning, Aidasani was remanded in custody. His is now set to appear in the Supreme Court on 9th September.
