Sep 03 - Local Woman On Trial For Beating Up Her Partner’s Ex

A local woman accused of beating up her partner’s ex-wife stood trial today at the Supreme Court.

Elaine Garro is charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident in November 2012.

The jury of nine heard that the victim received several blows to her head, and an injury to her eye.

Garro denied all charges. She is represented by Chris Miles and Johann Fernandez appears for the Crown.

The trial is expected to last for three days.
