Feb 11 - Gibraltar Drama Festival – Programme Of 14 Plays Announced

Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, has confirmed that the 2016 Gibraltar Drama Festival will take place from Tuesday 15th to Saturday 19th March 2016. All performances will take place at the Ince’s Hall. A total of 14 plays will be presented as follows:

Tuesday 15th March 2016 – 7.30pm

1. Trafalgar Theatre Group presents: “Constellations” a comedy drama by Nick Payne (15+) 


2.Rock Theatre Group presents: “Power Plays” trilogy segments by Harold Pinter (18+) 


Wednesday 16th March 2016 – 5pm - Junior Day

1. GAMPA presents: “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, a non-competitive entry by infant 
players (U) 


2. GAMPA presents: “Peddler Polly and the Story Stealer”, a play by Aaron Sheppard (U) 


3.White Light Company Juniors presents: “Hoodie”, a play by Lindsay Price (U) 


Wednesday 16th March 2016 – 8pm - Junior Day

1. Trafalgar Theatre Juniors presents: “Let’s Go to London” a play by Kaye Umansky (U). 


2. Fresh Wineskins from the UK presents: “The Gospel According to Scrooge”, an original comedy by Nick Fromings (U) 
 Thursday 17th March 2016 – 7.30pm

3. Bayside and Westside Drama Group presents: “William and the World”, an original play by Julian Felice (PG) 


4. Rock Theatre presents: “Black Adder II – Bells” a comedy by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton (PG) 


5.Dramatis Personae presents: “Checkmate”, a thriller by Robert Scott (12+) 


Friday 18th March 2016 – 5pm

1. GAMPA presents: “Insert Label Here” an original drama by Christian Santos (PG) 


2. Medway Little Theatre Youth Company from the UK presents: “A Point of Law” a Mystery Drama by 
Bob Cooke (PG) 


Friday 18th March 2016 – 8pm

1. Bayside and Westside Drama Group presents: “In Jesus’ Name” an original drama by Julian Felice (15+) 


2. Bayside and Westside Drama Group presents: “The Trial” a drama by Steven Berkoff (15+) 


Saturday 19th March 2016 – 7.30pm

GALA NIGHT – Final presentation of several plays selected by the Adjudicator, to include the winning play, followed by the awards ceremony by the Minister for Culture, Steven Linares.

The Adjudicator will give a short delivery about each performance at the end of every session.

Tickets for the festival will be on sale on weekdays at the John Mackintosh Hall as from Monday 22nd February 2016, between 9.30am and 4.30pm. During performance days, tickets will be on sale at the venue an hour before the session begins. Tickets are priced as follows:
