Aug 04 – Six Contestants Sign Up For Mr Gibraltar 2016
Six contestants signed up for the Mr Gibraltar 2016 competition yesterday evening at the Elliott Hotel.
The contest is being organized by Ideal Productions and is set to take place on Saturday 24th September at the Alameda Open Air Theatre.
Tomorrow is the closing date for entries so we spoke to Mark Andrades from Ideal Productions to find out about what sort of men they’re looking for…
“We’re looking for that 21st century man who looks after himself, knows how to cook and does things for society and charity. We look at the person as a whole not just the typical good-looking lad who looks in the mirror and loves himself – we want the whole package,” Mark explained.
Mark says that Ideal Productions received hundreds of messages after last year’s Mrs Gibraltar expressing an interest in a similar competition for men.
“Once again, after this year’s pageant, we got loads of messages saying the same and we decided to go for it. There’s loads of stuff for women so why not have an equivalent competition for men locally?” he said.
The winner will represent Gibraltar at either the Man of the Universe or Mr International competitions – this is yet to be determined by the organisers depending on which one they feel is “best for Gibraltar.”
