Aug 25 - American Flamenco Guitarist Ronald Radford To Perform On The Rock

American Flamenco guitarist Ronald Radford will be performing in Gibraltar on Wednesday 31st August in a show called #Brexit por Bulerías".

The critically acclaimed show which produced by Alicante-based producers will be held at Ince's Hall  tells a story of an artist’s love for his people and the music that makes them tick.

Radford says the show is a statement about the essential importance of culture at a time when Europe is at a structural crossroads.

He said: “Current developments give us an opportunity to show that culture and culture alone can build the fundamental basis for any other form of transnational union. Europe is rich in cultural diversity, but its fundamental emotions, values and art forms are shared, and upon these first and foremost can we bring to the fore those things that unite us rather than our differences.

“If an American from deep in Oklahoma can learn to feel and practice the ancestral art and values of the Spanish gypsies, Romanians and Spaniards, Berliners and Athenians, Londoners and Tuscans can certainly find common feelings, common ground and shared cultural affinities beyond just a common coin and a borderless continent with a few shared institutions."

Master Flamenco Guitarist Ronald Radford has evoked standing ovations on four continents. As a protégé of the legendary Carlos Montoya, he has been acclaimed in Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center, but also in Madrid, Jerez and Mexico.

Raised in Oklahoma, he became enamoured with flamenco at the age of 14 and learned to appreciate through music and art the role that culture can play in binding diverse individuals, nationalities and countries, beyond borders, beyond markets, politics and more superficial divisions.

Radford will close his European tour with a much awaited performance at Gibraltar's Inces Hall Theatre, on Wednesday 31st August at 8pm. Tickets go on sale from the John Mackintosh Hall as from Tuesday 30th August or at the door as from 5pm. Tickets can also be reserved online at www.vocemmus.com/bbtickets
