Aug 31 - Three Local Poets To Debut At This Weekend’s GMF

Three local poets Rebecca Faller, Gabriel Moreno and Jonathan Teuma will be performing at this year's Gibraltar Music Festival. GMF 2016 has seen a welcome addition of a comedy and acoustic section bringing more variety to an already vibrant event.

Jonathan is a 'Poet and Spoken Word Artist' who is characterised by his use of the "Yanito" dialect. His work is imbued with humour and irony, tools that he often uses to comment upon politics and social injustice. Every now and again, he also writes about love.

Rebecca Faller's trademark sing-song poems focus on political satire, feminism and the trials of life in Gibraltar. They are mainly comedic and tongue-in-cheek but with the odd tear-jerker thrown in.

Gabriel can only be described as a cross between Leonard Cohen and Lorca; his poems and songs are abstract and romantic but always pack that killer punch. He is a published poet and his CD 'Love and Decadence' shows off his songwriting skills.

Faller and Moreno debuted together in Gibraltar to a packed, standing-room-only Sacarello's Coffee House earlier this year and will be having their second show on Friday 21st October. In the meantime you can see all three original artists at the festival this weekend. They are performing Saturday and Sunday as from 5pm on the Acoustic Stage.
