Oct 28 - Doner Kebab Inventor Dies

Who loves a greasy kebab and chips with lashings of cocktail sauce after a night on the tiles?

Tributes from across the globe have poured in for the man who is reportedly the "inventor" of the doner kebab. Kadir Nurman, a Turkish immigrant, passed away this weekend in Berlin at the age of 80.

Mr Nurman created the popular fast food dish while he was running a market stall in Berlin which he set up in 1972.

The doner kebab has since become the late night snack of choice among drinkers and clubbers returning home.

Mr Nurman came up with the idea as a meal that people are able to enjoy on the move.

In 2011 he was recognised as the original creator of the doner by the Association of Turkish Doner Manufacturers.

Many kebab lovers took to Twitter to express their sadness at Mr Nurman's passing.
