Nov 20 - Wine Tasting At The Instituto Cervantes

The Bodegas Riojanas winery, represented by commercial director Bartolomé Benito, held a wine tasting session at the Instituto Cervantes last night. The event was sponsored by Lewis Stagnetto Limited.

Benito took the audience on a tour of the history of Bodegas Riojanas, which was founded in 1890, and explained the production process behind the five wines on offer: two wines from Toro (Crianza Tinto y Blanco Verdejo), the Viña Albina Semidulce and the Monte Real Crianza and Reserva.

Benito explained that the founders, the Artacho family, already had extensive experience in the wine trade by the time they set up the company in the late nineteenth century.

Bodegas Riojanas now boasts more than a century of tradition in their wine cellar in the town of Cenicero in La Rioja.

"The company also has an extensive international presence. It has offices in the United States and England and exports wine to the European, South American and Asian markets,” he said.
