Nov 24 - A Highlight of the Festive Calendar - Convent Christmas Fair This Thursday
This year's Convent Christmas Fair is set to take place between noon and 7pm on Thursday 27th November. The fete will display over 40 festive stalls adorned with traditionally handcrafted jewellery, elaborate Christmas decorations, culinary delights, fashion and beauty treats and brilliant gift ideas and stocking-fillers.
Each year, the season is kicked off with the ever popular Convent Christmas Fair, which will also offer a Santa’s Grotto from 2pm, all day refreshments, and a performance by St. Bernard’s First School at 6pm.
The public will have the chance to win a Honda Vision 110cc Motorcycle courtesy of Bassadone Motors. Raffle tickets will be on sale at the Fair and the winner will be drawn at 6.30pm.
This year money raised at the Fair will be donated to the Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society (GADS) and will go towards the setting up of a Snoezelen Room at the new Day Care Centre.
Dementia is progressive decline of mental intellect and is an umbrella term for Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Vascular Dementia and others.
Heading her first Convent Christmas Fair, Lady Dutton, explained that this will be a ‘wonderful start to the Christmas season and I am delighted that we will be supporting the work of such a worthwhile cause and an organisation which does so much for the local community’.
