Nov 27 - Ars Liricae Perform At The Instituto Cervantes
The Ars Liricae lyric ensemble offered an enjoyable performance of traditional songs from Aragon and a selection of zarzuela pieces last night at the Gibraltar branch of the Instituto Cervantes.
The group featured soprano Beatriz Cortés, tenor Javier Hostaled and pianist Sara Cayero.
The group was formed three years ago and has since made numerous appearances in both in Aragon and the rest of Spain. The performance last night focused predominantly on zarzuela, a genre which is very popular on the Rock. In fact, this popularity led to the creation of the Institute’s very own zarzuela club.
In addition, there were some excerpts from "Il Trovatore " the great Verdi opera.
