Feb 27 - Classic Vehicle Association Annual Rally Planned for May
In May the Gibraltar Classic Vehicle Association will host their annual rally, with the added bonus of a tour by Gibraltar Museum Director Professor Clive Finlayson. In November last year the Association was accepted as a full member of the International Federation of Ancient Vehicles.
The rally will kick off as always at 9:30am in Casemates Square with a display of all vehicles until 1:30pm when they will set off in a convoy along Main Street, down Queensway, along Devil’s Tower Road and onwards to Europa Point. For another stop on Professor Finlayson’s tour and a photo opportunity. They will head back down to Casemates for Lunch.
A GCVA spokesperson insisted that, ‘Gibraltar has so few miles of road yet is laden with so many historical points of interest that it is a truly fascinating place to tour. To be able to do this in a classic car is surely unbeatable. I am sure Saturday will be a great day to enjoy our cars on this remarkable Rock. We hope to see you all somewhere during the day as we celebrate our motoring heritage around the Rock.
‘On Sunday morning from around 10:30 you'll be able to catch another glimpse of these cars at Puerto Sotogrande where owners will be taking a coffee break as the GCVA returns a compliment by joining forces with other clubs in the area.’
