May 28 - Steve Hogarth In Concert In Gibraltar

The voice of Marillion, Steve Hogarth, will be performing in Gibraltar this Saturday at a special concert at Saint Michael’s Cave.

As part of the Gibraltar Spring Festival, the event is fully supported by Gibraltar Cultural Services and will also feature Steve’s son Nial on percussion and guitarist extraordinaire Dave Gregory.

More than 100 fans from all over Europe are expected to travel to Gibraltar for the concert, as well as journalists and editors of music publications This is Rock and Prog – the world’s leading progressive rock publication, which voted Marillion Band of the Year in 2013.

The incomparable setting of St Michael’s Cave will be the setting for “h (Super)Natural - A Special Evening with Steve Hogarth & Friends”, the set-list of which is expected to feature songs spanning Steve’s 25 year career with Marillion, including tracks from albums like Seasons End, Holidays In Eden, Brave.

Fabian Vinet is a personal friend of Hogarth, and has been involved with organising the show.  He said: “This really does promise to be an exceptional musical event. Marillion fans are in for a treat but even those who aren’t necessarily well versed with the band’s output will enjoy this concert.

“Steve Hogarth is an outstanding singer who gives it his all on stage, while Dave Gregory is one of the best guitarists I’ve ever seen. The sparse arrangements of this set-up allow the voice and lyrics to shine through and when coupled with the wonderful acoustics of the Cave, this will create the perfect ambience for any music lover to enjoy.

“As a major fan myself, I’m naturally biased, but I sincerely do recommend anyone who enjoys good, quality live music to attend Saturday’s concert. It’s going to be very special."

The event is organised by GibMedia and has been made possible thanks to the support of partners Isolas and Fiduciary, plus sponsors Gibtelecom, GibOil, Lewis Stagnetto Limited, Sovereign and Chesterton. Also performing will be the very popular Megan Dallas, who returns to Gibraltar for an exclusive performance at this concert. On Friday evening there is a meet-up for Marillion fans at My Wines (Chatham Counterguard) which will be attended by many local and international fans of the band.

Tickets for h (Super)Natural, priced at £20, include a free shuttle service from Grand Parade and are available from Music Corner (Main Street) and online at www.buytickets.gi
