    The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).

albert poggio With over 25 years of handsome success under its belt, the Gibraltar Government’s London Office, situated on the Strand once again hosted another edition of its now annual ‘Gibraltar Day in London’ earlier this week.

The face behind, and in front of, Gibraltar House’s prosperity is Albert Poggio OBE, a man who prides himself on having developed long-term friendships with the relevant figures in a cross section of industries that share strong ties with Gibraltar.

We caught up with Mr. Poggio following some speculation on his retirement from the position, in Parliament. Mr. Poggio’s tenure at Gibraltar House has seen the Rock through turbulent times and many Government administrations, both in the UK, and Gibraltar.
