Gibraltar’s Jubilee Celebrations this Bank Holiday Monday are not purely restricted to the sea with the Flotilla. Down at Ocean Village visitors can enjoy face painting, bouncy castle action, drinks and food, and all whilst listening to a selection of fantastic tunes provided by Fresh Entertainment. The party is just warming up in preparation for the return of the Flotilla, which we have been informed, is now passing by Europa Point (a fantastic location to view the pageant and take some memorable pictures).
The Gibraltar Ocean Village Diamond Jubilee flotilla is now well underway. The boats are making their way to the southern tip of Gibraltar. 115 vessels left just under an hour ago and have been making their way across showing our support for the Diamond Jubilee.
YGTV’s reporters out in the Bay of Gibraltar are our eyes and ears in the Flotilla. So far all reports seem to indicate that everything is going well, despite the slight malfunction of the starter’s klaxon as Minister for Culture, Stephen Linares, launched the pageant on its journey around the Rock. The photos and updates will keep coming in for the duration of the event.
Keep checking YGTV for regular updates on the Gibraltar Jubilee Flotilla.
Another short YGTV interview with the Captain of the All Abroad vessel here in Gibraltar. Yet another vessel involved in the Ocean Village Diamond Jubilee Flotilla:
After having secured the city and inspected the Ocean Village Marina, the Gibraltar Re-enactment Society have been spotted aboard a vessel in the Bay of Gibraltar, flying Her Majesty’s Flag with pride. They can now be seen touring the Rock of Gibraltar by boat as part of the Jubilee Flotilla. See if you too can spot them from wherever you are watching this Jubilee Celebration unfold.
Check out some of our photos from our reporters on board in the Flotilla. The vessels are out in numbers, and if you didn't know that the Flotilla was on, you DO NOW! There are 115 boats registered with the Flotilla and they are all enjoying the day out.
YGTV has just received a report that Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted in a kayak within the Bay of Gibraltar. Our reporters on the scene sent in this photograph depicting Her Majesty as she tried to clandestinely join the Gibraltar Flotilla. Early indications seem to be that her trip down the Thames yesterday was nowhere near as exciting or sunny as today’s event. YGTV has also been led to believe that she is on a mission to assert Her Sovereignty over British Gibraltar Waters.
