Oct 06 - GSD Respond To Public Questions Live On Facebook

The GSD has pioneered an innovative & ground breaking way in Gibraltar for the electorate to question their candidates in the upcoming election by staging a live Question and Answer Session on Facebook.

The first GSD candidate to face questions on Speak Your Mind was Roy Clinton an experienced banker, who made himself available for two hours online to answer questions about his area of expertise - Public Finances.

The event saw an influx of over 150 new members into the Facebook group for the event with the other groups remaining largely inactive. A great many questions were put and answered which can still be read by those who were unable to be online at the time. The GSD is committed to real direct democracy, and giving the public an opportunity to get to know the candidates' portfolios.

After the session Roy stated that it had been an interesting adventure and he hoped all had enjoyed it.

Mr Trevor Hammond followed up with a session on Monday evening via the "Gibraltar Politics" Facebook Group where he took questions on the Environment (with particular focus LNG), Education and Town Planning.

Elliot Phillips will be answering questions on Facebook Group Speak Freely on Wednesday 7 pm and the Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Feetham, will be answering questions on Llanito Politics on Thursday at 8 pm.
