Oct 12 - Sir Adrian: Gibraltar Has Many Good Friends In High Places

The former Governor of Gibraltar, Sir Adrian Johns, attended the Gibraltar Day evening reception in the Guildhall.

Speaking to YGTV, Sir Adrian said it “felt brilliant” coming back and seeing so many familiar faces and old friends.

“I’ve sort of retired completely,” he said, adding that spending time with his family – particularly his grandchildren – was now his priority.

Speaking about the continued tensions with Spain, which flared up while he was still in office, Sir Adrian commented: “It is not surprising and very disappointing that nothing seems to change very much but it’s important to note that there’s a lot of work that goes on in the background that people aren’t aware of. Gibraltar’s got a lot of good friends in very high places who work very hard on Gibraltar’s behalf.”
