Nov 24 - Spark Confident Its Position Will Be Justified
Spark Energy Limited has responded to the Chief Minister’s statement during a lunchtime interview on Radio Gibraltar where he said that Spark had been removed from operating its power stations four months ago.
The company denies this saying arguing that this is “not a true reflection of the true position.”
A statement continued: “GMES has not terminated its contract with Spark and we have continued to operate, as we have always done, through our operators, the two Spark Power Stations. We have always and will continue to meet our contractual obligations until such time as the contract between GMES and ourselves is terminated.
“Furthermore, if Mr Picardo is confident that Spark deliberately caused the power cuts there can be no doubt that appropriate action would have been taken by the relevant authorities. No such action has been taken. We also note Mr Picardo’s comments regarding their alleged claim against us and we invite the Government to commence proceedings against us forthwith where we are confident our position will be justified.”
