Nov 25 - GSD “Committed To Public Sector Jobs”

The GSD says it is “shocked” at the tone and language used by Mr Bossano towards Civil Servants "as acknowledged by the GSLP/Libs Press Release".

The GSD says it is committed to maintaining existing levels as published in its manifesto and distribution leaflet via the GGCA on the 12th November.

A statement continued: “What we have said is, we shall use the surplus of officers arising from the phasing in of E-Government to cover long term absenteeism, maternity cover and contingency demands with proper civil servant officers rather than through recruitment agency employees who have been discriminated by the GSLP/Libs administration in terms of pay and conditions making a mockery of their equal work - equal pay policy.

“What we do criticise is the way in which the  GSLP/LIBS have failed to deliver from their  2011 manifesto commitment to ensure succession planning by leaving up to 7 heads of departments vacant for years, many of which we understand remain vacant today.”
