Nov 27 - Paul Balban Hopes To Maintain Transport Minister Portfolio

Pending results, candidates mill around the John Mackintosh Hall, among polling agents, civil servants, party supporters and family members.

Transport Minister under the GSLP Government, Paul Balban tells Your Gibraltar TV that he is proud of the work his party has carried out over the past four weeks, during the campaign.

He said: "There has been a lot of work done by our team behind the scenes. We’ve  been extremely strong in that respect and I’m looking forward to the result. If re-elected, it very much depends on what the Chief Minister wants to do next, he has the final say and takes decision over the portfolios each minister has, be it in Government or opposition.

"I would love to continue the work I’ve started, there’s a lot of work, which still needs to be done. The traffic plan is just about to be launched and I would like to see it through. There are still a lot of changes to be made, hopefully people take kindly to them."

This election marks Mr Balban’s third time standing as a candidate, having failed to obtain a seat in 2007, and then being voted in as a Government minister for the first time in 2011.
