Nov 27 - GSLP-Lib Ministers Sworn In As Gibraltar’s New Government Sets Out To “Lay The Strongest Foundations” For The Future
All ten re-elected GSLP-Liberal candidates were sworn in as Government Ministers in a short ceremony at the Convent this morning just three hours after the results of yesterday’s General Election were announced.
The Ministers swore allegiance to the Queen in the presence of Her Excellency the Governor Allison MacMillan.
Following this, the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo crossed the road to address local media outside Number Six Convent Place.
Mr Picardo said that his party did not believe elections were about personalities but about a “programme for Government.”
“Today, we prepare to return to Number Six as the new Government for Gibraltar with a new programme for the next four years,” he added.
“We will do the bidding of the people of Gibraltar and lay the strongest foundation for our nation’s future,” he concluded.
It is not expected that any Ministerial portfolios will change hands at the moment with all newly elected Ministers returning to their pre-election roles.
