Oct 27 – Cross Frontier Group Wins Support In Andalusian Parliament For EGTC

The Cross Frontier Group visited the Andalusian Parliament in Seville on Wednesday where a debate on establishing support for the creation of a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) between Gibraltar and La Linea de la Concepcion (which would then be extended to the rest of the Campo de Gibraltar) was tabled by Izquierda Unida.

Eight votes were cast in favour of the motion seeking support for the EGTC by representatives of Izquierda Unida, the Partido Socialista Obrero Español and Podemos where Ciudadanos abstained and five votes were cast against the motion by the Partido Popular.

A communique by the PSOE (see below) on the grounds of this motion that speaks very favourably on the actions of the CFG in attempting to bridge the gap between communities and work towards projects of mutual prosperity.
