Jul 30 - GSD Concerned by New Spanish Frontier Implementations
The GSD has expressed deep concern in ‘the stance taken by the Spanish Government to issue passes which will effectively fast track EU nationals, the vast majority of whom are of Spanish nationality, who live in Spain and work in Gibraltar’.
The party believes that it is ‘a method to appease Spanish workers while maintaining, or even increasing controls at the frontier for non-workers and tourists, allowing the Spanish authorities to continue in their attempts to place a stranglehold on the Gibraltar economy’.
The GSD endorses the position taken by the Government in calling for free flow across the frontier for all and offers to work with Government, should such aid be requested, to develop a cross party unified stance on the issue.
