Oct 30 - Minister Linares Attends CLGF Conference
Steven Linares, the Minister with responsibility for Utilities, Fire Service , Postal Service, Refuse Collection and Civil Contingency is currently in Edinburgh attending a Commonwealth Local Government Forum Conference. The Conference is discussing issues of Devolution and Decentralisation after the Scottish referendum.
Minister Linares gave a presentation to the conference on the current situation in Gibraltar. The Scottish Minister for local Government and planning, Mr Derek Mackay, was at the conference and Minister Linares had the opportunity to discuss issues of common interest.
Minister Linares said: "The Commonwealth Local Government Forum Conference is a very useful forum where we are treated as equals. Countries such as Malta, Cyprus, North Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England are represented. The CLGF has members from the whole of the Commonwealth at local and regional level and our message goes out to a wider audience."
