Oct 31 - All Party Parliamentary Gibraltar Group Elects New Chairman

The Committee of the All Party Parliamentary Gibraltar Group met on Tuesday evening in an emergency session to elect a Chairman to fill the post made vacant by the sudden death of Jim Dobbin.

The Committee unanimously elected Jack Lopresti MP as Chair.

Mr Lopresti said: “I am delighted to have been elected to the role of Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Gibraltar Group, although saddened that this has come about as a result of the untimely death of Jim Dobbin. Jim, who served this Group so well and for so many years, will be a hard act to follow, but I will do my very best to work to further the objectives of the Group and defend Gibraltar’s interests in Parliament.”
