Oct 12 - Minister For Culture Congratulates Artist Christian Hook

Christian Hook's portrait of Alan Cumming has been included in the 100 great masterpieces of Scotland's national galleries and is included in the recently published book '100 Masterpieces' together with artworks pertaining to renowned world artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Rembrandt and Warhol, amongst others.

The Minister for Culture, the Hon Steven Linares MP has sent a message of congratulations to Christian Hook, following the recent announcement by the Director General of the National Galleries of Scotland.

Commenting on this extraordinary achievement, the Minister said: "Christian Hook's achievements are going from strength to strength, from winning many local and international art exhibitions, to becoming Sky Arts Artist of the Year in 2014, to his own Sky Arts programme painting celebrities and now amongst the 100 masterpieces of Scotland.

"Her Majesty's Government is very proud of Christian’s achievements and a journey that the whole of Gibraltar should be proud of."

The Minister for Culture wishes Christian all the best for his solo exhibition that opens this week at the Clarendon Fine Art Gallery in Mayfair, London and all the best with his future endeavours.
